PM Imran Khan hints at action against people involved in petrol crisis

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan has hinted at action against the people involved in the petrol crisis.

Chairing a meeting of the federal cabinet on Tuesday, the prime minister formed a committee comprising on three ministers to review the recommendations of the inquiry report.

He said that the action would be taken against responsible people after final recommendations.

Sources said that the ministers had put harsh questions to Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Petroleum Nadeem Babar.

Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Zaidi said that the companies that made money illegally should be changed. Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda demanded that the licences of the companies involved in the scam should be cancelled.

The cabinet approved the appointment of Lt Gen Akhtar Nawaz as the NDMA chairman. It also approved permanent appointment of managing directors of the SNGPL and SSGPL.

Moreover, the approval was granted to appoint the CEOs of power distributing companies. The forum also approved reorganization of EOBI Board of Trustees.

It granted approval to appoint the community welfare attachés.
