PM Imran Khan orders extraordinary steps for improvement in economy

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed unusual steps for the improvement in economy. He was presiding over a meeting of the Think-Tank of Finance and Economy in on Saturday. He said that coronavirus had a bad effect on the economy of the country. “Our objective is to provide a relief to the poor masses,” he said. He said that the government had adopted a strategy to maintain a balance between sustaining economic activity and protecting the masses from Covid-19 from day one. “Ehsaas Program is the flagship program of the government to alleviate poverty and requires expansion along with a strategy to reach the needy.” Imran Khan appreciated the proposals presented by the think-tank regarding banking and finance, further improving the Ehsaas program and facilitating SMEs. He directed that regular feedback of the think-tank be provided to him on various ongoing initiatives, policies and programs of the government. Adviser to PM on Finance Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh briefed the meeting about the objectives and focus areas of the Think-Tank on Finance and Economy.
