ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the country is witnessing economic stability due to efforts of the government. Addressing a meeting of the parliamentary party in Parliament House on Monday, the prime minister asked the lawmakers to play an active role in the approval of the budget. “It is regrettable to disrupt the assembly proceedings deliberately by the opposition,” he maintained. The prime minister said that the government had faced the most difficult time during its first 10 months. “The country was facing the worst economic difficulties when the PTI assumed the power,” he said. Imran Khan thanked the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, China and other friendly countries for extending cooperation during difficult times. He said that the previous governments had pushed the country to the quagmire of loans. “A half of the country’s income is being spent on paying off the installments of the loans,” the PM said. The PM said that the former rulers lived a luxurious life on foreign loans. “The foreign debts climbed to Rs24,000 billion during 10 years and a commission has been formed probe the increase in debts and determine the responsible,” he declared. He said that those filling their pockets by burdening the nation with debts are national criminals and they should be treated as criminals. “The people have given the mandate to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to break up the status quo and launch a decisive battle against the corrupt,” he declared.
