PM Imran Khan stops FIA to make arrests under PECA Amendment Ordinance

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan has stopped the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to make arrests under the PECA Amendment Ordinance.

According to sources, the prime minister had issued directions to the FIA in this regard on Tuesday.

The prime minister said that the work on rules and regulation of the ordinance was going on and no one should be arrested till finalization of the rules. The rules will clarify that how the arrests should be made.

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has already stopped the FIA from making arrests under section 20 of the PECA Amendment Ordinance.

On the other hand, the PML-N has announced to challenge the PECA Ordinance in the IHC.
