ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan has thanked overseas Pakistanis for yet another record-breaking month of remittances of US$2.4 in December.

In a tweet on Friday, he said: "MashaAllah, first time in Pakistan remittances have been above US$2 billion for six consecutive months. Total for six months of this fiscal year US$14.2 billion – a 24.9% growth over last year."

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan was briefed in detail about a survey with regard to social and economic impacts of the coronavirus pandemic.

In the survey, it was told that a large number of families were economiccally affected by coronavirus. However, the ratio was reduced by July 2020 due to timely steps taken by the government and smart lockdown.

Appreciating the digital system, he said that the system would help monitor the prices of daily-use items and performance of the district administration.
