PM Imran Khan to chair CCI meeting today

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan will chair the meeting of the Council of Common Interests (CCI) today (Wednesday).

According to the details garnered, the meeting will be attended by the Punjab, Sindh, KP and Balochistan chief ministers. The Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) prime minister and Gilgit Baltistan caretaker chief minister and some senior federal ministers will also be present in the meeting.

The CCI meeting will review a three-point agenda, and will likely to decide regarding the release of the census results.

The meeting will be briefed on the domestic industries while matters related to the Higher Education Commission will also come under consideration after the 18th amendment.

It was also reported that the implementation of the decisions taken at the last meeting of the CCI will be reviewed during the meeting. National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) report 2018-19 will also be presented in the meeting.

The decision to amend the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) Ordinance will also be reviewed in the meeting. It is also expected to take the decision regarding release of the census 2017 results during the meeting.

The transfer of control of lower portion of the Chashma Right Bank Canal (CRBC) to Punjab from CRBC is also part of agenda. The meeting will also consider the decision regarding import of LNG and issue of granting NOC to CJ Hydro.
