PM Imran Khan to virtually address UNGA's session today

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan will virtually address, 76th session of UN General Assembly (UNGA), the world's biggest diplomatic gathering today.

Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Munir Akram had said that throughout the session, Pakistan will draw the world‘s attention to the human rights violations in Indian occupied Kashmir, the imperative to stabilize Afghanistan, the need to combat Islamophobia and counter disinformation, being propagated by India, and to address the economic challenges confronting developing countries.

Climate change and coronavirus crises will also dominate discussions at the high-level debate, in which a large number of world leaders are set to participate in person and virtually.

The Prime Minister’s policy address will serve to enhance Pakistan’s diplomatic outreach and engagement with its international partners and key institutions.

The address reflects Pakistan’s abiding commitment to multilateralism and affirmation of the United Nations’ central role in the maintenance of international peace and security, promotion of sustainable development, and respect for human rights worldwide.
