PM Imran Khan reaches Muzaffarabad to visit landslide-hit areas

MUZAFFARABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan reached Muzaffarabad to visit areas affected by landslide and heavy snowfall in Azad Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday. In a tweet on Tuesday, Prime Minister Imran Khan directed to immediately provide all humanitarian assistance on emergency footing to the people affected by land sliding in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). He asked the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), the military and all federal ministers to take timely actions in this regard. He said the severe snowfalls and landslides in AJK have caused misery and deaths. Over 100 killed in weather-related incidents in AJK Death toll in glacier and land slide related incidents following heavy snowfall in different areas of Neelum Valley AJK risen to 100. According to official sources, so far 53 injured have been shifted to nearby hospitals by the help of Pak Army and administration. The incidents took place in over 15 villages of Neelum valley. According to initial assessment, 52 houses were fully destroyed while 82 partially damaged. Most of causalities 43 have been reported from Surgan valley. According to State Minister Disaster Management Authority, Ahmad Raza Qadri, efforts are made to reach to the affectees as early as possible.
