PM Imran leaves New York for Pakistan after historic UNGA address

NEW YORK (92 News) - Prime Minister Imran Khan, whom plane was rerouted to New York due to technical glitch on Friday evening, left for Pakistan via Saudi Arabia on Saturday a day long stay in New York.

The premier is travelling by Saudi Airlines and is scheduled to reach Pakistan via commercial flight at 8pm Pakistani team after spending few hours in Jeddah Saudi Arabia.

On Thursday, PM Imran had left for Pakistan via Saudi Arabia, but his plane was diverted to New York after a couple of hours flight following a minor technical fault.

He stayed at a hostel for a night before beginning new journey back home.

Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Ali Amin Khan Gandapur told reporters in New York that the plan developed fault in navigation system.

Imran Khan, who is returning after completing a week-long US visit and highlighting Occupied Kashmir issue at every forum including his historic address at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), will reach Islamabad to receive warm welcome by PTI leaders and activists.

PM Imran not only spoke at length over plight of Kashmirisi, but also took up Kashmir issue with all heads of states including US president Donald Trump.

His 50-minute speech became top trend on social media on Friday.

The PTI leadership have made special arrangements in Islamabad to give warm welcome to the PM, who completed his Mission Kashmir, upon his arrival today.
