PM Imran vows to collect Rs30b for dams every year

KARACHI (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday vowed to collect Rs30 billion every year for the Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand dams fund. Addressing a dam fund-raising event at Governor House, Imran Khan has stated that he is the greatest fund raiser in the history of Pakistan. The premier said that the government cannot do water financing from the limited budget allocation. He assured that the government has to meet its target of 30 billion rupees every year and they will collect more than target. PM Khan said that the water per capita availability in the country has dropped from approximately 5000 cubic metres to 1000 cubic metres per year. The prime minister that 80 per cent of water is wasted in Pakistan, adding that Pakistan can build dams in five years if the donations continue. He thanked the citizens of the metropolis for hosting him. Imran Khan termed that prosperity of the country depended upon Karachi. He further said that when the government and nation get together then dams will be built and the loans will be repaid.
