PM-Khurshid Shah meeting to finalise caretaker PM ends inconclusive

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The meeting between Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah to finalise the name of the caretaker prime minister remained inconclusive. Sources disclosed that the prime minister had said that more names will be pondered until tomorrow. They said that the prime minister had liked the names of the government and the PPP. Syed Khurshid Shah said that they were trying to resolve the issue in the parliament. “The government has not insisted on any name so far,” he said. He said that the name of caretaker PM will be finalized in consultation with the prime minister. “The matter will be referred to the parliamentary committee if the name could not be finalized. The prime minister and the opposition leader will send two names each to the parliamentary committee that will finalize the name out of four names.” Khurshid Shah said that the Election Commission of Pakistan will be authorized to finalise the name if the parliamentary committee could not decide the name.
