PM lays foundation stone of first nursing university

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has on Friday laid foundation stone of the King Hamad University of Nursing and Allied Medical Services in Islamabad. Addressing the ceremony, he said that health is one of the top priority of the government, adding that it has introduced major reforms and initiated projects focused on poorest of the poor. He expressed the confidence that the university will bring quality of nursing care in the country. The prime minister announced the construction of 50 hospitals throughout the country. Nawaz Sharif further described the university as a significant step towards improving healthcare sector in the country as it would help fill an important gap in the healthcare field. He said there was dearth of properly qualified and trained nurses and the project would help overcome this problem.
