PM Nawaz announces first university in Chitral

CHITRAL (92 News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has on Wednesday announced to build first university in Chitral. Addressing the rally in Chitral after laying foundation stone of several development projects, he said that the university will be built under his supervision. The prime minister further announced to complete the Lowari Tunnel until June 2017. “Some people have just raised slogans but didn’t fulfill their promises, he added. Nawaz Sharif also announced the construction of a 250-beds hospital, adding that all the projects will be completed until 2018. Adviser to the Prime Minister Amir Muqam and elders of the area welcomed him on his arrival. The prime minister inspected the under construction Lowari Tunnel to be completed at a cost of over Rs18 billion in March next year. The tunnel will serve as all weather link between Chitral and rest of the country. Chitral remains disconnected during winter season due to heavy snowfall on Lowari top. With the completion of Lowari Tunnel, distance between Peshawar and Chitral will be reduced to seven hours from the existing fourteen hours. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will preside over a meeting on law and order in Karachi on Thursday. He will also attend a ceremony of the Stock Exchange.
