PM Nawaz challenges ECP’s jurisdiction in hearing

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has on Wednesday challenged the jurisdiction of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to hear petitions regarding Panama leaks. Salman Butt, PM Nawaz Sharif’s lawyer said that first the jurisdiction of hearing of ECP must be defined. He said that first the ECP should listen to their concerns. Talking to media, Latif Khosa said that the defendants wanted to dictate the ECP as during last hearing, a full ECP bench headed by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice (Retd) Sardar Mohammad Raza Khan, after hearing the petitions, directed Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif, Hamza Shahbaz, Ishaq Dar and Captain Safdar to submit their replies. Khosa said that the month of October is the last month for the prime minister. On the other hand, Spokesman for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Naeemul Haq said that the nation is fed up of rulers, adding that Nawaz Sharif violated country’s law.
