PM Nawaz has complete authority to devise foreign policy: Sartaj Aziz

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Adviser to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has on Tuesday said that according to constitution Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has complete authority to devise foreign policy. Giving policy statement on foreign affairs in the National Assembly on Tuesday, he defended the absence of foreign minister in the country and made it clear that the constitutionally prime minister is the head of the affairs and has complete authority to foreign policy The adviser said that Pakistan is pursuing a balanced policy based on non-interference and protection of national interests and nuclear assets. He pointed out that Pakistan is making successful efforts for non-entry of India into Nuclear Suppliers Group. Aziz said that the foreign policy keeps changing following the change in the global scenario and he rejected the impression that Pakistan is being isolated. He said that Pakistan’s relations with Muslim countries are excellent, while the relations with Iran and Afghanistan are encouraging.
