CPEC not only a project, but a way to progress, says PM Nawaz Sharif

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that they will not forget China’s trust in Pakistan. Addressing the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Summit and Expo in Islamabad on Monday, he said that the CPEC is not only a project, but a way to progress. He said that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project is an example of China-Pakistan friendship and this project will benefit other countries. “We will jointly work for progress and peace in the region,” he maintained. Nawaz Sharif said that the China has always supported Pakistan at every forum, while Pakistan has full support of China on every issue. “The CPEC project will write history as the project will not only benefit Pakistan and China but also others too,” he said. The prime minister said that the CPEC will not only create a strong overland link between Pakistan and China but also give us opportunity to strengthen Pakistan's own inland transportation and logistics infrastructure. He said that by working together we can bring peace and stability in the region through economic development for our people, adding that Pakistan will have to be economically strong for development in the region. Sharif said that our region has witnessed a lot of conflict and deprivation in the past but the time has come to turn a new leaf in the history of the region by bringing peace and prosperity and addressing the challenges of poverty and unemployment. The prime minister said that there is no lack of resources in Pakistan and the country is on track to growth, adding that Foreign exchange reserves have doubled.
