PM Nawaz Sharif visits ISI Headquarters; says anti-Pakistan elements will be dealt with an iron hand

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that foreign secret agencies want to destabilize Pakistan, but they will deal with anti-state elements with an iron hand. During his visit to Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Headquarters in Islamabad on Saturday, he reiterated the resolve that they will collectively defeat all designs of the enemies and make Pakistan a secure and affluent country no matter what the cost. Nawaz Sharif lauded efforts and achievements of ISI in countering terrorists' attempts and paid rich tributes to the officers and men of the agency who sacrifices their lives. He said condemned the Indian defence minister's statement against Pakistan about terrorism. “We are proud of the ISI and it deserves due recognition and acknowledgement,” he said. He emphasized the need for more coordinated role of all intelligence agencies to bring optimum effects to defeat all threats. The prime minister expressed his serious concern about recent statements by Indian Political leadership. The Director General ISI briefed the prime minister and COAS on internal and external security situation of the country and ongoing counter-terrorism operations. He briefed recent ongoing successful Intelligence Based Operations and number of terrorists attempts averted in near past and terrorists networks busted across the country. Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Special Advisers to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz and Tariq Fatemi were also present.
