ISLAMABAD (92 News) – PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb on Saturday has alleged that Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan and Shahzad Akbar were facilitator of Daily Mail's story.

Speaking to the journalists, Marriyum Aurangzeb said that Opposition Leader Shehbaz Sharif has challenged that he would quit politics if corruption of a single penny is proved against him; however, no proof of the allegations was presented.

The PML-N leader said that Shehbaz Sharif filed a case against Daily Mail over planted story and now court has summoned all the evidence of allegations levelled by the story. "PM Imran Khan levelled allegation on others to hide his on lootings," she added.

Earlier, after preliminary hearing of the defamation case against Shehbaz Sharif, Justice Sir Matthew Nicklin of the UK court ruled that wording of the Daily Mail article was a source of insult to Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif.

Counsels for Daily Mail admitted that allegations of corruption and money laundering against Shehbaz Sharif were limited and based on assumptions. "There is no accusation of money laundering against Shehbaz Sharif, but his family's involvement cannot be ruled out," he added.

Counsels for Daily Mail cited the statement of Adviser to the PM on Accountability Shahzad Akbar regarding money laundering investigations against Shehbaz Sharif.

Counsel for Shehbaz Sharif stated that the Daily Mail article comprised of baseless allegations instead of proofs.

"The article first gave the example of links between Shehbaz Sharif and the British government and later levelled the allegations of corruption against him," he stated.
