PM Shehbaz Sharif approves Ramazan relief package, removal of Miftah Ismail's name from ECL

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif presided over the first meeting of the cabinet on Wednesday.

The cabinet approved the Ramazan relief package. It also approved to remove the name of Finance Minister Miftah Ismail and appoint Rai Tahir Hussain as DG FIA.

The cabinet was briefed in detail about the economic situation. It was told that the subsidy on diesel and petrol was given in April and May just for political point scoring. The subsidy on the POL products had caused a loss of Rs 67 billion to the national exchequer.

Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that they would try their best to revive the sinking economy.
