PM Shehbaz Sharif demands for a joint charter to deal with climate change

SHARM AL-SHEIKH (92 News) - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif demanded to create a joint charter to deal with climate change.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a press conference with UN Secretary General António Guterres after attending the Climate Implementation Summit in Sharm Al-Sheikh.

PM Shehbaz Sharif said that more than 30 billion dollars were lost in Pakistan due to floods. Assistance is awaited to meet the need of shelter and food for the flood victims.

The Prime Minister said that dealing with the effects of climate change is not in the hands of developing countries. He demanded a joint charter to deal with climate change.

The Secretary General of the United Nations said that he came to see the destruction caused by the floods with his own eyes. The scenes of destruction are unforgettable.

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres said that Pakistan needs massive aid. It is the responsibility of the international community to help Pakistan fully. He also demanded the international financial institutions to give loan waiver to Pakistan.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met several world leaders on the sidelines of the conference and appreciated their passion for helping the flood victims.
