PM Shehbaz Sharif seeks EAC advice to deal with political instability, weak economic management

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has sought an advice from the Economic Advisory Council (EAC) to deal with political instability and weak economic management.

According to sources in the Finance Ministry, the prime minister has ordered the authorities to make the packages received from Saudi Arabia, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and China part of the budget. He also directed to prepare a timeline to utilize the total package of Rs12.25 billion.

Sources said that the plan to stabilize political situation is also under consideration to achieve the targets of the economic plan. "Through these amounts, the biggest target will be to ensure payments if the energy supply."

Meanwhile, the prime minister also demanded the minimum amounts chart in the subsidy of the POL products.

According to sources, the second target will be in time clearance of outstanding interest. The newly-formed EAC has been assigned the task to control the situation by the end of May.
