LONDON (92 News) Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has urged the interim Taliban government in Afghanistan to take immediate action to prevent terrorist organisations from using Afghan territory to launch attacks against Pakistan.
Speaking to journalists outside Avenfield flats in London, the prime minister urged the Afghan interim government to prevent terrorist groups like TTP and IS-K from using Afghan soil for attacks against Pakistan, in line with the Doha Agreement.
He also condemned the killing of eight Pakistanis in Iran’s Sistan-Baluchistan province, calling it a heinous act of terrorism, and demanded swift justice. He also directed the foreign ministry to support the victims' families and repatriate the bodies promptly.
In addition, PM Shehbaz highlighted the outcomes of his recent visit to Belarus, announcing a potential agreement to send 150,000 skilled Pakistani workers to the country and bolster cooperation in mining and agriculture.
He expressed hope that the ongoing Overseas Pakistanis Convention in Islamabad would strengthen ties with the diaspora, acknowledging their vital role in supporting the country through remittances and international goodwill.
The prime minister is expected to return to Pakistan on Monday morning following his two-day visit to Belarus and brief stay in London.
