ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) senior leader has said that Prime Minister Imran Khan is sitting on a Himalaya mountain of ego on Friday. During a National Assembly (NA) session, Ahsan Iqbal demanded to impose education emergency in the country. “One thing is apparent, this prime minister is sitting on a mountain of ego. He is inexperienced, which is not a bad thing, inexperienced people learn but incapable people don’t,” he added. The former interior minister mentioned that the government used coronavirus as the political football and the nations is facing consequences. He also bashed the government for borrowing people from other agencies instead of putting government officials to work. He claimed that by engaging officials of the security forces, the government was defaming the institution. Iqbal demanded the government to facilitate overseas Pakistanis who were stranded abroad and wished to return to Pakistan for Eid. He further urged the government to beef up the health infrastructure and reinstate local body government in Punjab. Former planning minister Ahsan Iqbal has criticised the government for not putting forward a copy of policy to deal with coronavirus. He pointed out that none of the ministers or representatives of government were present in the parliament to attend the debate on the ongoing health crisis. Ahsan Iqbal has said that world is facing a dangerous virus that has brought even a world power to its knees. “There is a realisation that the power of nations is not determined [only] by their military capability, but by the protection of human resources,” said PML-N MNA, citing the example of the US. He said that a handful of countries that have succeeded in controlling the spread of the virus had enforced strict lockdowns, had conducted mass testing and taken care of its sick. The countries that "shut their eyes like a pigeon", Iqbal said, are today losing lives like autumn leaves.
