ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Responding to the war of words between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Jahangir Tareen, Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday stopped cabinet members from issuing statements. In his statement, the prime minister said, “Who will attend the meeting and who is not, this is all depend on my authority.” He has stopped cabinet members from issuing statements and stressed that internal differences of the party should not make their way onto the media. A day earlier, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi was critical of Jahangir Tareen for attending government and official meetings. Shah told reporters Tareen had been disqualified by the Supreme Court and barred from contesting elections and his attending meetings opened the door for criticism by PTI opponents.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that the presence of Jahangir Tareen in an official meeting is a contempt of court.

Talking to the media on Monday, he said that Jahangir Tareen is a capable man. “I request him (Tareen) to decide on the issue that when he sits in an official meeting Marriyum Aurangzeb gets an opportunity to speak against the government,” he opined.

He also asked Jahangir Tareen to advise the party from some distance. “It’s not our viewpoint to touch the 18th Amendment,” he said.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) stalwart leader and a close aide of Prime Minister Imran Khan Jahangir Khan Tareen has termed that he always attend all meetings on the Prime Minister Imran Khan’s will as well as desire on Monday.

Responding to concerns of Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, the PTI leader said that he only accepted his leader as Imran Khan and liable to him for any query.

“I have no concern with the strange reasons of others. It was his fundamental right to serve the interests of Pakistan. No one [including Shah Mehmood Qureshi] can restrict me from serving the country,” Jahangir Tareen said. https://twitter.com/JahangirKTareen/status/1112659238868930560
