PM summons party, govt’s spokesperson session to discuss IoK issue

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan has summoned a meeting of his party’s spokespersons as well as the government’s to discuss the ongoing political scenario of Indian Occupied Kahsmir (IoK) on Wednesday. The session is scheduled to start later today at the Prime Minister’s office. The premier will apprise the attendees of the narrative about the current situation of the country. He will also brief on the government’s steps with regards to the situation in Indian occupied Kashmir. PM Khan has also summoned a meeting of the National Security Committee (NSC) today  to discuss deteriorated situation of the Indian Occupied Kashmir (IoK). The prime minister called a high level meeting after India abrogated special status of Occupied Kashmir by scrapping articles 35A and 370 of the constitution. The country’s top civil and military leadership will attend the meeting for the second time in a week to discuss the prevailing situation in IoK. Prime Minister Imran Khan will chair the NSC meeting. The meeting will be briefed about the measures taken by the federal government to deal with the Indian move about revoking Kashmir’s special status. Prime Minister Imran Khan’s contacts with the world leaders would also be discussed in the meeting. Meanwhile, the federal cabinet meeting scheduled on Wednesday has been postponed owing to the NSC meeting. However, the cabinet meeting would he held on August 9. Earlier, the Indian government rushed through a presidential decree to scrap a special status for Indian-held Jammu Kashmir, hours after imposing a major security clampdown in the region. Amit Shah has announced to abrogate Articles 370 and 35A from its constitution, which gives special status and rights to the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The announcement was made by Indian Home Minister Amit Shah while addressing in Rajya Sabha, upper house of Indian parliament. Amit Shah also announced that Jammu and Kashmir would be re-organized geographically. Amit Shah also announced that Jammu and Kashmir now a union territory with legislature,and it is no more a State. He also announced that Ladakh will also be union territory without legislature. He said that President of India had issued a notification in this regard.
