PM wants youth to gear up for biggest tree planting campaign in history

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has asked all Pakistanis, especially the youth of the country to gear up for the biggest tree planting campaign in history.

The prime minister took his social media micro-blogging website and said, “I want all Pakistanis, especially our youth to gear up for the biggest tree planting campaign in our history. We have a lot of catching up to do."

"And we will be gearing up this monsoon season for our plantation drive - the biggest in Pakistan's history," PM Imran Khan tweeted.

Earlier, the world leaders have appreciated the Pakistani government and Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan's leading role to tackle environmental impacts with a number of mega initiatives.

In their virtual speeches and video messages in the main ceremony of World Environment Day that was hosted by Pakistan, they commemorated the efforts of Pakistani nation led by PM Imran Khan for showing the world that through devotion and commitment, the tides of global warming and climate change could be reversed.

China commends Pakistan's ecosystem restoration

Chinese President Xi Jinping said that China commends Pakistan's commitment to ecosystem restoration, and stands ready to work with Pakistan and the rest of international community to step up cooperation within the UN framework.

Noting the significance of UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration, President Xi said the thematic activities held by Pakistan are of great importance.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson appreciated Prime Minister for undertaking a mega project of planting ten billion trees. He said it is a huge campaign for forestation.

UN Environment Programme Executive Director Inger Anderson said Pakistan is showing us a way. Prime Minister Imran Khan recently planted one billion tree of Ten Billion Tree Tsunami. Bravo to all.

World Economic Forum (WEF) President Borge Brende, congratulating Pakistan, said that with these nature positive measures, Pakistan is showing to the world that it is possible to combine objectives of livelihood, resilience and ecological health.
