PMA calls for imposition of coronavirus emergency throughout country

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) on Saturday called for imposition of the coronavirus emergency throughout the country.

Expressing his views in 92 News Programme 'Cross Talk', PMA secretary general Dr Qaisar Sajjad warned that the situation could worsen if steps were not taken to control the Covid-19 pandemic.

He said that the government was taking all steps very late. "We had informed teh government in the beginning, but the government did not pay attention to it," he said.

Dr Dr Qaisar Sajjad said that they had informed the government since beginning, but no one listened to them. "Coronavirus cases have increased manifold across the country, but the people are not paying attention it. The cases before us are only registered and four-time cases are still unregistered," he said.

He said the people would have to strictly follow the SOPs if do not want India-like situation in the country.

The PMA secretary general said that the government should impose curfew in the country to control the pandemic. "The government should take all-possible steps to the save the lives of the people," he concluded.
