ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has declared the NAB Amendment Ordinance, saying that the government has given itself an NRO through the ordinance.

Talking to the media on Thursday, PML-N leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that no one can hold the cabinet decisions accountable. "The NAB can do nothing over the loss of Rs 800 billion. It has been proved that the ordinance is not meant for accountability," he added.

He said that the ordinance is an attack on country's judicial system. "Several ridiculous sections are included in the ordinance."

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that the NAB chairman had not seen any corruption during three years of the government. "The NAB law was formed by a dictator. It is being changed through an ordinance during this government," he added.

He said that the NAB would not be able to interrogate 700 people included in the Pandora Papers.

PML-N leader Khawaja Asif said that corruption, according to Transparency International, had increased much more than the previous governments during this tenure. "The incumbent rulers are the most corrupt ones in the history," he added.

He said that the opposition is being targeted through the black law.

Ahsan Iqbal said that the government is taking such steps that could create anarchy in the country. "The NAB Amendment Ordinance has been formed keeping in view two objectives – to save the corrupt people in the government and to get appointed favourite judges against the opposition," he added.
