LAHORE (92 News) - PML-N has demanded the arrest of Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan and Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar in the Rawalpindi Ring Road scandal.

Addressing a press conference at the PML-N central secretariat, Uzma Bukhari lashed out at the prime minister and the Punjab chief minister, saying that CM Buzdar had played the role of Imran Khan's facilitator in the Rawalpindi Ring Road scandal. "This is not a scandal of Rs 25 billion but a scandal of more than Rs40 billion which has been investigated and arrests are pending," she added.

Criticizing the premier, she further said that Imran Khan had confessed to the crime in Rawalpindi Ring Road that some people were benefited. She claimed that billions of rupees were given to the relatives of Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar and PM's aide Zulfi Bukhari.

It is noteworthy here that Prime Minister's Special Assistant on Overseas Pakistanis Zulfiqar Bukhari has resigned from his post over the Rawalpindi Ring Road scandal.

Zulfi Bukhari announced his resignation through a tweet on Monday, in which he said that the Prime Minister has always said that if a person has been named in any inquiry, whether rightly or wrongly, he should cease to hold any public office till his name has been cleared of the charges.

Earlier, the PML-N has accused the government for shielding the real culprits in Rawalpindi Ring Road corruption case.

Speaking to the journalists, Khaqan Abbasi has alleged the government of protecting people involved in Rawalpindi Ring Road corruption case. He also claimed that everyone in Prime Minister (PM) House is busy in making money. "No corruption or money laundering charge has been proven against Shehbaz Sharif yet," he added.

"Every minister is facing corruption cases. The corruption case surfaced regarding the Ring Road, now the report will prepare again. No government affiliated official was not arrested till now in corruption case. Why the special assistant tendered resignation, however, he has no relation with the government departments," the former premier mentioned.
