ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The federal government on Tuesday placed Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) leader Javed Latif’s name on exit control list (ECL). The federal cabinet meeting gave the approval to put names of Javed Latif on ECL after the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had recommended putting the PML-N leaders on ECL. This recommendation was made in a letter penned by the NAB Lahore to the Interior Ministry to place Maryam’s name on the ECL in Chaudhry Sugar Mills case. It is pertinent to mention here that Maryam Nawaz’s name is already placed on the ECL in Al Azizia reference, which she had challenged in the LHC. The high court is set to Maryam Nawaz’s plea seeking removal of her name from the ECL on January 15. Earlier today, the federal cabinet’s sub-committee has approved to place the name of PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz on the exit control list in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case. The cabinet has granted the approval on the recommendation of the sub-committee. On the other hand, a two-member bench of the Lahore High Court will hear a petition of Maryam Nawaz seeking removal of her name from the ECL on January 15. The bench will comprise of Justice Muhammad Tariq Abbasi and Chaudhry Mushtaq Ahmad. On December 16, the Lahore High Court (LHC) had ordered the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to submit the reply on the return of the passport of Maryam Nawaz on December 24. The court also allowed Yousaf Abbas to submit the reply on the bail plea of Yousaf Abbas. A two-member bench headed by Justice Ali Baqar Najafi heard the bail plea. Earlier, the Lahore High Court (LHC) had referred Maryam Nawaz’s plea for removal of her name from the exit control list (ECL) to the review committee of the federal government. The court also ordered the review committee to make decision on the application in a week.
