KARACHI (92 News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday appointed Privatization Commission Chairman Zubair Umar as Sindh governor. The PM sent a summary in this regard to President Mamnoon Hussain who signed it. He will take the oath of the 32nd governor of Sindh on Thursday. Talking to 92 News, Zubair Umar confirmed that the decision to make him the Sindh governor had been made and a notification in this regard would be issued tonight. He said that they will take Karachi ahead with the Sindh government. “I will face several challenges.” Zubair Umar said that Karachi is the economic hub of Pakistan. He did his MBA from Institute of Business Administration and worked at key posts of IBM for 25 years. In the 2013 elections, he joined the PML-N media and economic committee. Later, he was appointed the Board of Investment chairman and then Privatization Commission chairman. His younger brother Asad Umar is an MNA from the PTI. He is being appointed the governor after the death of Saeeduz Zaman Siddiqui on January 11.
