LAHORE (92 News) - The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) moved the Lahore High Court (LHC) for immediate election of the Punjab chief minister.

As per details, the plea was filed by PML-N candidate Hamza Shehbaz through his counsel Azam Nazir Tarar. He contended that the election for the chief minister Punjab is being delayed unnecessarily. “The post is vacant since April 1 and under Article 130 of the constitution, it cannot remain vacant for so long. Court should issue orders for holding immediate elections.

Earlier, Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar had accepted the resignation of CM Sardar Usman Buzdar. After the acceptance of the resignation, the no-confidence motion against the chief minister had become ineffective. The Punjab cabinet had also been dissolved.
