PML-N prepares first list to award party ticket for Lahore constituencies

LAHORE (92 News) – The Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) has completed the first list of Lahore for party candidates for the national and provincial assembly constituencies for the general election scheduled for July 25. As per details garnered, ahead of the announcement, a parliamentary board meeting held under the chair of PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif at Model Town in Lahore. PML-N quid Nawaz Sharif, former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Maryam Nawaz and including other leaders attend the session. In the meeting, the consultations on list of ticket holder in Lahore has been completed. According to the sources, Malik Riaz was declared suitable candidate for NA-118 whereas Malik Pervez was also suggested for the same constituency. Hamza Shahbaz Sharif will contest elections from NA-124 on the party ticket. The sources revealed that the names of Pervez Malik, sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Waheed Alam Khan and Mian Margoob Ahmad were under observation for contesting election from NA-125. Khawaja Saad Rafique will contest from NA-131. The names of Mian Margoob Ahmed, Mehar Ishtiaq Ahmad and Rana Mashood were suggested for NA-126. PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz was considered strong candidate from NA-127. The sources further said that Sheikh Ruhail Asghar and Sohail Shoukat Butt niminated for NA-128, whereas names of Khawaja Salman Rafique, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Sohail Shoukat Butt were observed for the NA-129 seat. Khawaja Ahmad Ehsan, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Zaeem Qadri and Hafiz Nauman was selected from NA-130, and the names of Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Pervez Malik, Khawaja Imran Nazir, Waheed Alam Khan and Zaeem Qadri were suggested for NA-133. Shazia Mubashir, Khawaja Imran Nazir and other names were chosen for NA-134. Saiful Malok Khokhar will contest election from NA-135. According to the PML-N list, Malik Afzal Khokhar, Sardar Adil Omar Ch and Ch Abdul Ghafoor was nominated for the party tickets of NA-136. However, the final decision regarding to issue tickets will be taken by Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif. Former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar submitted nomination papers for NA-59 (Rawalpindi III) and two seats of Punjab Assembly. On the other hand, PML-N leader and daughter of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif submitted the nomination papers for NA-127 in Lahore district. Former foreign minister Khawaj Asif filed his details for PP-37 and Sialkot’s constituency NA-73. Regarding Maryam Nawaz and Shehbaz, sources said, “It appears that they both will contest elections from three constituencies each.” “Maryam has been recommended to contest from Karachi as well,” sources further said. Further, Nawaz and Shehbaz are said to be at loggerheads over issuing a party ticket to former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar.
