Islamabad – Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have geared up preparations for another high voltage electoral battle in NA-133, which fell vacant due to the demise of PML-N leader Pervez Malik.

According to sources, the Election commission of Pakistan (ECP) has decided to hold NA 133 Lahore Bye Election in the first week of December.

The contest would be litmus test for the ruling PTI since Lahore is a strong political bastion of its political arch rival PML-N.

Election commission Coordination wing has purposed date of 5 December for high voltage Bye Election in Lahore; however Chief Election commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja and Members will decide final date soon.

Sources said that ECP will announce schedule for NA-133 Lahore next week after the approval of Election commission.

In General Elections 2018 PML-N Candidate Pervaiz Malik obtained 89,678 votes and grabbed the seat while PTI Candidate Ejaz Chaudhray got 77,231 votes.

After the death of Pervaiz Malik, PTI has decided to give ticket to Jamshed Iqbal Cheema while PML-N has yet to nominate its candidate for NA 133.
