ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has raised the issue of the allegations of Gilgit-Baltistan former chief justice Rana Shamim in the parliament.

The opposition members also staged a token walkout in the Senate.

PML-N Senator Azam Nazir Tarar said that the elected prime minister was sent home through a judicial verdict in the past.

"For how long this havoc will be played with the country. For how long people's right to vote will be looted. No effort should be made to control the elections through these tactics," he added.

He said that the prime minister had termed the disclosure a conspiracy instead of forming a commission over the issue. Azam Nazir demanded that a commission should be formed over the issue.

Expressing his views in the National Assembly, PML-N leader Khawaja Asif said that Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz were kept in jail to get a particular party succeeded. "For how long this sequence will continue?" he added.
