PML-N received more votes than expectation in by-election: Nawaz
October 15, 2018
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday said that despite the conspiracy the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) received more votes than its expectation in by-elections 2018. Talking to the journalists outside the accountability court, Nawaz Sharif said that the people voted for the PML-N in by-elections, which hints at what the future will be like. “People gave us more votes than we expected,” he said.  “An election result like this came for the first time during the initial 50 to 60 days of a government in Pakistan’s history.” “It’s on the record that the dollar rate was at Rs104 for four years during our government. Now it has reached Rs124,” Nawaz added. He said this happened for the first time in the country’s political history despite the fact that he had been behind bars while his younger brother Shehbaz Sharif is still in NAB custody. In October 24 by election, PTI lost two of the four National Assembly seats vacated by its chief Imran Khan to the MMA and the PML-N. The PTI and the PML-N got four seats each out of 11 NA seats. The PML-Q managed to win two seats in Chakwal and Gujrat, whereas the MMA won the Bannu seat.
