LAHORE (92 News) – Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) senior leaders reached London to attend parliamentary meeting today (Friday) under the chair of party president Shehbaz Shairf. According to the reports, a group of PML-N leaders reached London to seek guidance from ailing Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif, especially on the issue of legislation on the extension in service of Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa. Six PML-N leaders including Rana Tanvir Hussain, Khwaja Asif, Marriyum Auranzeb, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Senator Pervaiz Rashid and Amir Muqam will meet the Sharif brothers in London this week. Ahsan Iqbal will also join them. The party senior leaders have been called by its president Shahbaz Sharif. The sources informed that the PML-N group will discuss the law regarding an extension in the army chief’s tenure, the appointment of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) members as well as politics in the country. The sources further said that the final decision regarding the law for extending the army chief’s tenure will be made by Nawaz. PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the PML-N delegation will seek the leadership’s guidance on parliamentary matters. A meeting of the senior PML-N leadership, headed by Shehbaz, will take place on Friday. Earlier, political activities for legislation on Army Act intensified as PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif has summoned a meeting of senior party leaders in London. According to the sources, the PML-N president summoned the parliamentary party meeting in London. The consultations will be made between the party leadership regarding the matter of Army Act legislation. The delegation members will discuss the legislation on Army Act with former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif. The meeting would ponder over the matter of legislation on extension in the army chief’s tenure. Party leaders would discuss the appointment of chief election commissioner among other affairs. The matter of freezing of Shehbaz Sharif and his family’s assets would also come under discussion. It is pertinent to mention here that Shehbaz has been in London since November 20 on account of the treatment of his elder brother Nawaz Sharif.
