LAHORE (92 News) - The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has announced to move court against stopping the chief minister-elect from taking the oath of his office.

Addressing a press conference on Monday, PML-N spokesperson Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan said that the Article 130 of the constitution demands the election of the chief minister.

"We are facing an unusual situation. Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi was the candidate for the slot of the chief minister as well as speaker. The speaker can do what he wants. Firstly, he wanted to postpone the session," he added.

The PML-N spokesperson said that it was constitutional responsibility of the deputy speaker to be above the party. "The court had ordered the deputy speaker to conduct the elections at all costs," he maintained.
