LAHORE (92 News) – A meeting of Pakistan Muslim League-N’s (PML-N) central executive committee (CEC) has been started on Monday to devise future strategy over former Punjab chief minister Shehbaz Sharif’s arrest. As per details garnered, disqualified prime minister Nawaz Sharif is chairing the meeting. During the meeting, overall situation of the country and party's future political strategy will be discussed. Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider, Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Hamza Shahbaz Sharif and the other PML-N leaders are present in the meeting. It was reported that the after taking party leaders into the confidence, the opposition parties will be contacted. A day earlier, sons of incarcerated PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif’s Hamza Shehbaz and Salman Shehbaz met with disqualified prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz at their Jati Umra residence to discuss his father’s arrest by NAB. They discussed the PML-N president’s arrest by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and available legal resource to secure his release ahead of the Oct 14 by-elections. Speaking to the journalists after the meeting, Hamza lamented that a person who served the nation and saved the national kitty’s Rs23 billion has been sent behind bars. He complained his father was summoned in the Saaf Pani Company case, but arrested in the Ashiyana-e-Iqbal Housing project case. This joke of the arrest of the national leader won’t last long, he added. Earlier, an accountability court granted 10-day physical remand of PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif in the Rs14 billion of Ashiyana-i-Iqbal housing project scam.
