PML-N's Kulsoom Nawaz wins NA-120 by-election

LAHORE (92 News) – Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Begum Kulsoom Nawaz, wife of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has won the NA-120 Lahore by-election. According to the unverified and unofficial results, PML-N’s candidate Kulsoom Nawaz has obtained 61,254 votes while Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Dr Yasmin Rashid secured 47,066 votes in all 220 polling stations. Yaqoob Sheikh, an independent candidate backed by Milli Muslim League, managed to get 4,174 votes, while Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) candidate Faisal Mir got 2,520 votes. The voting process, which began at 08:00am continued till 05:00pm without any break and extension in voting time. For the first time in the country, 100 biometric voting machines were used on trial basis at 39 polling stations.
