PML-Q’s Tariq Basheer Cheema tests positive for COVID-19

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Pakistan Muslim League-Q’s (PML-Q) Tariq Basheer Cheema has tested positive for the coronavirus on Sunday. He was admitted to the PIMS hospital in Islamabad yesterday after testing positive. Cheema is the Federal Minister for Housing and Works and his party is Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s key coalition partner at the Centre. Cheema joins a long list of lawmakers to have contracted the contagious disease. Earlier, Special Assistant on National Health Services Dr Zafar Mirza has tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19). The special assistant made the announcement on his Twitter account, where he said that upon medical advice, he is self-isolating at home and taking all the precautions. Dr Zafar Mirza, who also has been at the forefront of the government’s response to the COVID-19, also mentioned that he has mild symptoms and requested all to keep him in prayers. “Colleagues, keep up the good work! You are making a big difference & I am proud of you,” he added. “I have tested positive for COVID-19. Under med advice I have isolated myself at home & taking all precautions. I have mild symptoms. Please keep me in your kind prayers. Colleagues, keep up the good work! You are making a big difference & I am proud of you,” the SAPM tweeted.
