ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Jamiat Ulema-e Islam-F (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has delivered a message to the federal government that if Prime Minister Imran Khan doesn’t resign, fresh elections will be called in three months. According to the sources, Maulana Fazl delivered his message to the premier and government the government’s negotiating committee through Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi. The JUI-F chief demanded either the premier tender his resignation or fresh elections will be called in three months. He said that the government can decide between the two options. The source also said that JUI-F has completed preparations for other options and will wait for the government’s reply till 12th Rabiul Awwal (Sunday) after which they will start acting on the next strategy. It was also reported that the next strategy is the closure of major highways across Pakistan. “The option of resigning from all provincial and federal seats will be looked at in the next stage,” he added. Earlier, Punjab Assembly Speaker Ch Pervaiz Elahi has said that efforts will continue till resolution of the Azadi March issue. Talking to the media after a meeting with JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Thursday, he said that they all are hopeful and things were heading towards improvement. “I hope that the result will be good and will jointly announce a good news soon. We have given a lot of suggestions,” he added. However, he did not respond the question about Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s demand for the resignation of Prime Minister Imran Khan. Earlier on his arrival, he was welcomed by Senator Talha Mahmood. It is was his fourth meeting with Maulana Fazlur Rehman during the last two days. Sources in the government said that the Chaudhry brothers will be successful in convincing Maulana Fazlur Rehman to end the sit-in. Ch Pervaiz Elahi had said that positive development is being made in the talks and several matters are being discussed. “There is need for patience and work hard,” he said. “We are working hard to take the matter to the logical end in a positive manner.” He said that their objective will be successful, but it will take time.
