POL prices reduced by Rs 4.60 per liter; gas price up by 112 per MMBTU

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The government has reduced the prices of POL products by Rs 4.60 per liter, while the gas price has been increased by Rs 112 per MMBTU. Addressing a press conference on Monday, Petroleum Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had directed to reduce the price of petrol by Rs 3 per liter. He said that the petrol would be sold at Rs 73.76 per liter, high-speed diesel at Rs 82.04 per liter, high octane at 79.79 per liter and kerosene oil at Rs 57.11 per liter. The minister said that the gas price for domestic consumers has been increased by Rs 69 per MMBTU, Rs 112 per MMBTU for industries, power houses and fertilizers, Rs 100 per MMBTU for CNG, Rs 63 per MMBTU for commercial sector and Rs 27 per MMBTU for captive power plants. Owing to an increase in the gas price, the prices of CNG and electricity will go up by Rs 8 per liter and Rs 2.5 per unit respectively, while the prices of daily-use items are likely to increase by five percent.
