Police arrest DG Parlimentary Affairs before an important session

LAHORE (92 News) - Police have arrested Parliamentary Affairs Director General Rai Mumtaz on Sunday before an important session of Punjab Assembly (PA).

According to family members, Police raided in the wee hours. “Police have taken Rai Mumtaz to an unknown place,” they added.

It is pertinent to mention here that Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has called Punjab Assembly session. Earlier, this session was scheduled on May 30. Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has changed the date of meeting under rule B25.

According to spokesperson of Punjab Assembly, Police entered in to the home of Rai Mumtaz by climbing walls of his home. The Police have also conducted raids in the homes of Secretary Punjab Assembly Muhammad Khan Bhatti and Secretary Coordination Inayatullah Lak to arrest them. “Police damaged their property and harassed their family members,” they maintained.

Meanwhile, Speaker Punjab Assembly has condemned raids on houses of Muhammad Khan Bhatti and Inayatullah Lak and arrest of Rai Mumtaz. “Sharifs’ real face is coming before nation this is the fascist action of the government. All this is being done on the orders of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif,” he concluded.
