KARACHI (92 News) – Police have on Wednesday claimed that Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader and Karachi’s designated mayor Waseem Akhtar while confessing the responsibility for May 12 tragedy has offered to help arrest the accused. According to a report submitted by the police, the Karachi’s designated mayor admitted that he had ordered firing on people gathered to receive Iftikhar Chaudhry outside the Karachi airport on May 12. On the other hand, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Coordination Committee has termed the media reports regarding party leader Waseem Akhtar as baseless. The coordination committee said that the allegation against Waseem Akhtar are baseless and an attempt to defame the MQM.
