KARACHI (92 News) - Police decided to seek court permission for the exhumation of Dr Maha Shah’s body for conducting post mortem again after finding some evidences. According to the details garnered, during the probe into mysterious ‘suicide’ case, police investigators have now decided to exhume Dr Maha’s body and conducting post mortem again. They said that the 9mm pistol had been shot in her head from the right hand, whereas, the medical report stated the bullet shot from the left hand. The police claimed that the medico-legal officer (MLO) had released her medical report without conducting a post mortem. It is pertinent to mention here that Dr Maha's father blamed that the accused and the MLO are involved to prepare the 'fake report'. However, SSP Bashir Barohi said that the discrepancy between the medical report and the evidence at the scene raised suspicions. He added that the arrested accused will get benefits from the current medical report in the trial. The police investigator further maintained that a clear picture of the case will be emerged after conducting post mortem of the deceased woman. It has been decided to formally seek permission from the court for exhumation and post mortem of Dr Maha Shah. Earlier, a local court granted two-day physical remand of two men arrested for providing a pistol to Dr Maha Ali Shah, who shot herself to death inside her home in DHA. The Judicial Magistrate (South) handed over the custody of the accused to police after the investigation officer (IO) requested their physical remand for further investigation into the case. The IO stated before the magistrate that the pistol used by Dr Maha to shot herself was registered in the name of Saad Siddiqui. He gave the pistol to Tabish Qureshi who provided it to her along with bullets.
