Police fail to arrest PM’s nephew Hassan Niazi during raid on house

LAHORE (92 News) – The police raided the house of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s nephew Hassan Khan Niazi to arrest him, but he was not at home. The DIG Investigations said modern technology is being used to arrest Hassan Khan Niazi. Meanwhile, the police have identified two lawyers who were involved in aerial firing outside PIC. They were identified as Malik Haseeb and Azam Mayo. Raids are being conducted to arrest the accused. On the other hand, the police have presented four more lawyers in the anti-terrorism court. Lawyers continued the boycott of courts against the arrest of their colleagues. As many as 81 lawyers have been arrested and sent to jail on 15-days judicial remand. Police presented over arrested lawyers in the ATC amid tight security measures. A heavy contingent of police has also been deployed around the courtroom premises to prevent any untoward incident. The prosecutor pleaded court for 15 days physical remand of the lawyers but Judge Abdul Qayyum sent them on judicial remand; however, the lawyers had produced before court after covering their face. A forensic team reached the PIC for collecting evidence to present in the court. The Shadman police had registered two cases against 21 nominated and 250 unknown lawyers on the charge of storming the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC). The case has been registered under sections 322, 440, 452, 353, 186, 354, 148, 149, 337H(2) and 395 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) on the complaint of Dr Zeeshan, Dr Irfan Niazi, Dr Muhammad Irfan and Dr Muhammad Habib.
Lahore CCPO vows to take action against hooligans
Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Zulfiqar Hameed has said that action will be taken against the people involved in hooliganism at Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) as per law. Talking to the media outside the PIC on Thursday, he said that some lawyers had worsened the situation due to the bar election. “The police have been deployed at all important places. It was inappropriate to use the power,” he said. The Lahore CCPO said that the police had twice pushed the lawyers out of the PIC. “The case of the incident has been registered and arrests are being made. Action will be taken against the responsible people according to law,” he said. He said that no one is above the law. “Negotiations were arranged between lawyers and doctors on Tuesday night. Doctors had agreed to apologize and the lawyers also agreed to resolve the matter,” he said.
