Police prepares list for the arrest of 95 PTI leaders
October 31, 2016
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Police have on Monday prepared a list of around 95 Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders, whom they would arrest. 92 News has received the list which contains names of the PTI leaders and their addresses. The list includes the names of PTI chairman Imran Khan, Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Jahangir Tareen, Aleem Khan, Sheerin Mazari, Munaza Hassan, Nafeesa Khattak, Fauzia Kasoori and others. PTI leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that they will with the government through democratic and legal ways. Khan has vowed to 'lock down' Islamabad on Wednesday in a bid to force Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to resign over allegations of corruption linked to the Panama Papers leaks. Police say they will block any such attempt. Khan's latest challenge to Sharif's government is based on leaked documents from the Panama-based Mossack Fonseca law firm that appear to show that his daughter and two sons owned offshore holding companies registered in the British Virgin Islands. Sharif's family denies wrongdoing. Khan led a previous mass protest in the summer of 2014 that lasted four months, allying himself to populist cleric Tahirul Qadri to back a sit-in in front of parliament calling for the government to resign over election rigging allegations. The planned protest comes at a sensitive time for Sharif, with Pakistan’s Supreme Court due to start hearing a case into the Panama Papers revelations about Sharif’s family involvement on November 1.
