Police says model Iqra Saeed died from drug overdose

LAHORE (92 News) – The police on Wednesday said Karachi-born model Iqra Saeed – who was brought to a hospital in Lahore in an unconscious state where she dead– died due to overdose of drug. According to the police, the initial report clarifies the model’s death reason as overdose of drugs and further said that the postmortem report will reveal the more facts into the matter of her death. The police also managed to unlock the cell phone of Karachi-born model Iqra Saeed, who was brought to a hospital in Lahore in an unconscious state where she died. As per her details obtained from her mobile phone, Iqra, 22, ran away from her home in Karachi and did drugs with three other men in Lahore’s Gulshan-e-Ravi, before she fell unconscious. The model was moved to the Government Teaching Hospital Shahdara after she fell unconscious due to overdosed on ice, by the men, identified as Hasan Butt, Usman and Umar. She passed away in the hospital two days later. According the police case has been registered against the aforesaid accused.
Action to be taken against anyone caught with drug
Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Afridi has said that action will be taken against anyone caught with drugs. Speaking to the journalists, the minister said his father married thrice and that he is from a big family. To a question about relation with Talal Nadir Afridi – who was arrested on drug charges on December 11 – was his nephew, Afridi said whoever he is, the action would be taken against him according to the law. It is pertinent to mention here that Talal was arrested along with three other young men on December 11 in Attock for possessing 507 grammes of hashish. The police flagged the young men’s car down but they refused to stop and, after a chase, they were caught. The police found the drugs in the car and registered an FIR against them.
