Police & ACE storm Ch Pervaiz Elahi's residence in Lahore, launch 7-hour operation

LAHORE (92 News) - The police and the Anti-Corruption Establishment stormed the residence of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf president Chaudhry Pervez Elahi and broke the main gate with an armored vehicle.

The police conducted the unsuccessful operation thrice to arrest Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi.

Women police officials were sent for a detailed search of the house. The officers kept moving in the house and the rooms, searched each corner of the house. By sealing off the surrounding areas and preventing the movement of citizens, an armored police vehicle broke through the main door of the house and entered.

A large number of Tehreek-e-Insaf workers reached outside the residence of Chaudhry Pervez Elahi to express solidarity with him. The police detained 25 people, including the employees and workers of Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, for protesting and resisting to the operation.

DG Anti-Corruption Punjab Establishment Sohail Zafar Chatta said that Pervez Elahi's family was not cooperating. "We have arrest warrants and have not done any illegal act."

Chaudhary Shaafy and Chaudhary Salik introduced themselves as Federal Ministers, but the officials did not listen to them. The police also broke the door of Chaudhary Shujaat's house. Chaudhary Shaafy's hand was also injured.

Chaudhry Salik Hussain said that the police did not know what to do. "I will also talk to the prime minister about these revengeful activities," he added.
